ABSTRACT

Effective gathering of high-quality information is an important component of the information process. However, presenting or discussing such data in the absence of sound conceptualization and analysis may produce results that are difficult to comprehend at best; at worst, they can be misleading and subject to misinterpretation by the principal’s constituency and stakeholders. Within the politicized context in which schools currently exist, it is important that principals work to minimize the possibility of such misconceptions. Accordingly, reliable information conceptualization and analysis is critical to successful gathering and dissemination of information. Broadly, initial information analysis includes conceptualization, categorization, and organization of data, management of data, and inspection of these data to determine relationships among them.
