ABSTRACT

This book has provided an introduction to an important component of data-based administrative decision making: information collection. Information collection sometimes is a complex and time-consuming activity, but there is no substitute in the overall process of data-based decision making. Without information collection, problem solving is limited to surmise and opinion. Because information collection can be complex, we recommend working with local or regional universities to get additional help in accomplishing this step. However, the information in the previous chapters should provide a framework from which information collection can proceed.
