ABSTRACT
Overview: Students in grades K-5 are asked to participate in collaborative discussions with diverse partners about grade-level specific topics and texts with peers and adults in small and larger groups. Teaching students in the early grades about appropriate discussion behavior and ways to participate in discussions will give students a lifelong skill they can use in the future.
