ABSTRACT

In the formative assessment monitoring stage, you observe and collect data on the specific writing goal in many diverse ways (Figure 2.1). The collection process can include the learners’ perceptions about their writing, their performance on short activities, their peers’ observations, your observations of their work, and their online activities. This monitoring involves collecting real-time data from the students based on where they are in the writing process at this moment. Data from a year ago or even from a month ago is outdated.
