ABSTRACT

An important part of the learning process is for student to examine models of quality work from their peers and professionals. The interactive whiteboard offers many tools that allow students to study the work of others in a more engaging way. While the example that follows looks specifically at models of writing, the different tools available can be used to examine anything from processes in solving math equations to elements of a painting. Both the students and teacher can use the tools to focus on particular elements of what they are examining. Providing students with models, both good and not so good, allows students to think critically and engage in discussion to determine what quality looks like, and then strive to apply it to their own work.
