ABSTRACT

Positive Self-Talk is an intervention that helps students to replace negative internal dialogues with positive ones. For most of us, the internal conversation we have with ourselves helps us to plan, solve problems, and think through options or scenarios. For some students, however, that internal conversation is primarily a negative one. Many challenging students come from negative environments and are constantly bombarded with negative, hurtful, and unproductive comments. As a result, they internalize that negativity in their self-talk.
