ABSTRACT

As a middle school and high school English teacher, one of my goals was to serve as a model for my students through my own reading. I was always reading what I considered to be serious literature and would often discuss with my students what I was reading, even passing on to them books I had read that I thought they, too, might enjoy. As a school administrator, I still try to read a great deal and still find myself sharing whatever I read that is useful with others. Now, however, instead of sharing primarily with students, I more often find myself sharing what I read and what I learn about our profession through my reading with teachers.
