ABSTRACT
Much of the content we teach to students is abstract in nature while many of our students tend to think in more concrete terms. Nowhere is this conflict more evident than the classroom. Teachers often tell students to behave in terms that are abstract and open to interpretation. Students are often implored to do their best and try harder only to find the teacher's expectations are very different from their own.
