ABSTRACT
It has fallen to my lot to spend a whole fortnight holding a series of interviews with hundreds of men, women, and children, who were making application for engagements to act in photo-plays, and during that brief period I can honestly say that I came into contact with as much character as we artists encounter in our studios in the course of a lifetime.
