ABSTRACT

A sailor's knot is a tidy but difficult knot to undo. But, if one knows how such a knot is tied, then the knot can be easily undone. Thus learning to tie a sailor's knot should presumably enable the person to untie it and overcome the problem posed by the knot. The word problem hails from the Greek word problema, which means obstacle. Accordingly, problems arise out of many different situations and reasons that become obstacles to progression. If you are able to identify the root of the problem, then it is highly likely that you may be able to solve the problem quite simply. However, some problems are so complex that they are not easily solved and sometimes knowing the root of the problem still does not help to solve the problem.
