ABSTRACT

Teachers often spend a lot of time sharing activities that they can try out in their lesson plans. Yet, little pre- or in-service professional time is spent on differentiated instruction (DI). The purpose of this chapter is to suggest some differentiated planning possibilities for math and science lessons. Here, we offer some sample lesson plans that follow the DI format from Chapter 1. The lessons have been field tested with student teachers and in-service teachers at San Francisco State University. The elements of these plans are arranged so they can be altered to fit in with any resource, program, or math/science school curriculum.
