ABSTRACT

Suchi Reddy was born and raised in Chennai, India, educated at the University of Detroit Mercy by instructors from Cranbrook Academy of Art, and worked with Polshek Partners on the redesign of the Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in New York. She learned something about drawing at each of those venues. In fact, the 48-year-old Manhattan-based architect seems always to be refining her appreciation for the art of the sketch as she folds it into the essence of her being. Inspired and energized by the New York city's converging cultures and creative dynamism, she has made it her base for Reddymade Design, the architecture and interior design studio she founded in 2002. It has created retail boutique interiors for tastemaker brands like Henri Bendel and Jimmy Choo, and high-end commercial interiors in architectural landmarks like Lever House. Two years in a row, the studio's work has been nominated for Interior Design's Best of Year award.
