ABSTRACT

This chapter offers guidance on the selection, use and presentation of the existing literature in a research project. It outlines different strategies for accessing material and identifies some of the most important journals in the study of education. Electronic literature searches are increasingly important, and the chapter identifies a number of useful databases and approaches for managing the process of electronic searching effectively. The chapter suggests strategies for managing and engaging critically with your selected literature. In the final section, it outlines effective approaches for writing up a literature review.
