ABSTRACT
Using empirical case material, this chapter analyses how different States are modifying their policy frameworks and their relation to space and territory in response to the changes brought about by economic reforms. By examining two distinct policy areas, promotional policies for attracting new investments and fiscal restructuring, the aim is to explain what has changed in the last two decades in India’s multilevel governance structure.
