ABSTRACT
Air-data (or manometric) instruments provide the pilot with key information needed for the basic operation of an aircraft's altitude and airspeed. These parameters are derived from measurements of the earth's atmosphere. This chapter describes the various instruments used to achieve these basic measurements, together with additional data that can be derived. Before delving into the various air-data instruments and systems, some generic principles of instrumentation are given.
