ABSTRACT

In the early 90s, the Libraries of California State University launched the Information Competence Initiative. Cooperation was the cornerstone of this project that dramatically increased awareness of the importance of information competence to student academic success. This paper shares the history of the project and the lessons that were learned as it grew to involve 23 campuses and hundreds of people.
