ABSTRACT

The 'Feeling Great' group is a class where people walk in feeling 70 years old, possibly tired and weary, and can walk out feeling vibrant and youthful. Doris Olmsted at age 84, suffering from severe arthritis, feeling depressed, having trouble walking, put on a smile and came to the 'Feeling Great' program. Mrs. Williams called to ask if her husband who was 67 years old and recovering from a car accident could participate in the 'Feeling Great' program. 1985, Joan gave her mother a six month gift certificate to the 'Feeling Great' program. At first, Gloria Batinich was hesitant about joining the program but soon fell in love with it. Ultimately, the 'Feeling Great' program is shaped by the instructor and the participants and reflects their attitudes. Olga Jefferson, age 81, is an active participant of the 'Feeling Great' program and attends class whenever she is not working.
