ABSTRACT
Caesar's arrival in Britain, first in 55 BC, then in 54, made very little difference to the landscape, so little in fact that none of the camps or other fortifications, which he must have constructed, are known today even by aerial photography: as far as the landscape is concerned, Caesar never came to Britain!
