ABSTRACT
The environmental crisis, as I discussed in the last essay, is one modern problem resulting from a failure to appreciate the unity of human beings and their interrelationship with the earth. In this paper, presented at an international conference on development, ethics and the environment, held in Kuala Lumpur in 1995, I analyse four perspectives on the environment, and advocate a worldview based on responsibility to the earth as God's creation.
