ABSTRACT

Sigmund Freud is the founding father of Psychoanalysis, a method of psychotherapy elucidating and joining unconscious thoughts and feelings that are believed to be at the heart of neuroses. Freud was born in 1856 and died in 1939. He was the first child of his father’s second marriage. Father Jakob Freud was a gentle man, patriarchal according to Jewish tradition and custom, somewhat distant but not absent, and certainly not close to Sigmund and his siblings.
