ABSTRACT

The median scores for Inuvik + Tuktoyaktuk combined (i.e. 25 town boys), and for 25 hostel boys are shown in Fig. 10, those for Morley and Cluny Indians in Fig. 11. In order to ensure that English test standards could reasonably be applied, the group tests were also given to 75 Canadian white boys and 86 girls in Calgary schools (median age 10:61\2, i.e. a little younger than the indigenes). The boys scored 101 on English, 98 on Group Vocabulary, 97 on Abstraction and 100 on Gottschaldt, showing that they were closely similar to the English standardisation group in most respects.
