ABSTRACT
The day after the Congress of Cardinals elected him pontiff, Pope Francis realized he’d forgotten to check out of his hotel room. So he got on a bus with some other cardinals and they went back and he took care of the bill. Presumably the papacy comes with plenty of perks-and lots of people could have taken care of this for him. But he chose to do it himself.
