ABSTRACT

Videotape cassettes have emerged as a primary source of information in the AIDS epidemic. Many include personal interviews with HIV-infected individuals and their loved ones. Videotapes are being produced by state and local health departments, community- based organizations, local AIDS service organizations, medical societies, universities, and federally funded education and training centers. This is not a comprehensive listing of available videocassettes and their producers, but it is designed to provide the researcher with an idea of the various products available. This section is arranged by audiovisual producer/distributor so as to provide easier access to the most current information. Titles are included where available. When examining the availability of AIDS-related information in the form of videocassettes, it is beneficial to contact local and national AIDS organizations for recommendations. The National AIDS Information Clearinghouse maintains a file on audiovisual producers and audiovisuals as does the National Library of Medicine in its AVLINE (see the section on Electronic Sources of Information). The National Audiovisual Center also provides a catalog of resources produced by the government (see the listing in this section).
