ABSTRACT
Having just examined the scholarship of Cornel West, with special attention to his discussion of social justice, it is rather ironic that I now should be remarking on appraising his scholarship as a public intellectual. Yet such comments as I am about to make are necessary in light of recent events at Harvard University.
