ABSTRACT

With this rich and extensive set of recommendations and ideas from those who experience Harlem on a regular basis, we can infer some general sense of factors to consider toward more equitable forms of urban development. As previously discussed, these factors include: avenues for resident ownership, attention to small business needs, affordable housing, employment with advancement and training opportunities, effective partnerships, logical planning, involvement of residents in setting policy, cultural appreciation, informed, involved, and organized residents, and a spirit of common good.
