ABSTRACT
This chapter provides some overview and comparison of the cases. The first section draws us back to the objectives of the CBD and the Nagoya Protocol and considers the role played by the case studies that have been examined, and by other potential ABS agreements in the future. Then, rather than re-examining in too much detail the discussion already made in each of the case studies, this chapter seeks to further explore some of the most important themes or issues that arise in biodiscovery activities and from ABS agreements. This will be done with reference to recent developments in the literature on ABS and related areas, national systems and specific ABS agreements.
