ABSTRACT

One reason why explicit material on spirituality is absent from art curriculum literature is the problematical task of presenting a rational synopsis of the occult for general review. However, outside orthodox religions, each spiritual system teaches a version of spiritual knowledge to people of all ages, including children; therefore, it is possible to present spiritual knowledge in a simple way for study purposes. Most spiritual teachers are mindful of Nisargadatta’s comment about consciousness of self beyond the mind: “all talk about silence is mere noise” (Nisargadatta, 1973, p. 447).
