ABSTRACT

The reasons why some people are fatter than others are as varied as reasons for dieting. Some people blame the obese for having brought their problems upon themselves. Slimmers often support this idea, believing that their weight gain was caused by taking less regular exercise, by eating more than previously, or by getting married and having children. Others, dejected after countless diet attempts, claim that they must be obese because of their ‘glands’ or because of their ‘make-up’ which destines them to gain weight even if they have managed to lose it previously.
