ABSTRACT
Most assistant lighting design jobs are freelance positions. A freelancer is someone who is self-employed and considered an independent contractor by the IRS. A freelancer is not a full-time employee of any particular entity, but instead is self-employed and moves from job to job without a steady paycheck.
