ABSTRACT

This is week 1 of the self-help guide. We’ll begin by focusing on information about menopause as well as on some relaxation and breathing exercises. Getting the most out of the programme will be down to you. Sometimes it can be diffi cult to set aside some time for ourselves, so before we go any further, think about how you might be able to fi t the programme into everyday life. To put the information and advice into practice, and to learn new skills, you will need to set aside about 30 minutes each day and another hour each week for the next four weeks. A diary is included at the end of each week and you can use this to monitor changes in your hot fl ushes as well as to record homework tasks.
