ABSTRACT
Processes built on complex interlinked diversity is what sustainability is all about. We can apply the same criteria to guiding the future design of regions, cities, and buildings. From the overall principle of linked diversity we can develop design strategies for future urban and regional development that address each of the three “E”s: Economics, Ecology, and Equity. If we can do this clearly and comprehensively we may create a new ethics and a new esthetics for civilization into the next millennium.
