Company Law Reform and the Board of Trade

The events of the three or four years preceding the closing months of 1931 led, as has been noted in the previous chapter to a powerful and insistent movement for the reform of the company law. The BOT, which was the forerunner of the Department of Trade and Industry with responsibility for company affairs, had to assess the need for a review of the company law.
