ABSTRACT
This chapter is about the relationships between the significations of the nation and the Internet. I have already discussed the nation as a signification in Chapter 2 and want to do the same for the Internet here. There are a number of ways to approach the study of the Internet. It is primarily perceived as a form of media by the public today, but in the broad context of this book, its implications for Malaysia nest within a set of relationships between nation and technology. So it is that this chapter begins from this perspective.
