ABSTRACT

On their way back from Afghanistan in 1955 the delegation of the Soviet government landed in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Over 3,000 people had assembled in the square with banners and portraits. From every corner they were shouting: ‘Welcome Nikita Sergevich Khrushchev!’ Upon hearing these exclamations and seeing all these people Khrushchev said: ‘No friends, I will make a speech. I cannot keep silent before these wonderful people…’
