ABSTRACT

In this chapter current available and applied performance indicators for indoor environments are presented and discussed. Performance indicators can be looked upon from the dose or environmental parameters, from the occupants or end-users and from the building and its components. To really assess the health and comfort (potential) of a building, a new approach is required, which can potentially include all types of indicators at different levels: dose-related, occupant-related and building (object and non-object)-related indicators, in different phases of a building; and in which both positive and negative effects are included.
