ABSTRACT
A town hall in a deprived borough. An evening talk to a chapter of a new social movement. So-called Transition Town groups are springing up around Britain. A new umbrella organisation, the Transition Network, co-ordinates them. This is my first invitation to speak to a Transition group. I am intrigued.
