ABSTRACT

Every day, in every moment our brains are bombarded by an overload of information. Consider, for example, all the things you could be paying attention to right now. There are probably many different objects in the environment around you. You could be focusing on the shape or color of the chair you are sitting on; you could be paying attention to the space you are in, its color, smell, level of noise and brightness; you could easily shift your focus to a conversation of other people in the background or music playing in the room next door. You could also decide to focus on something not immediately in your field of perception and bring to your mind memories of your last holiday or try to visualize the image of your best friend. In sum, there is a myriad of sensations, perceptions, thoughts and feelings you could be focusing on every second.
