ABSTRACT
Elena Mikhailovna Shirman (1908–42, who sometimes published under pseudonyms: Irina Gorina, Alena Krasnoshchekova, et al.), was born on February 3, 1908 at Rostov-on-Don. Her father, a navigator, sailed on the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea; her mother was a teacher.
