ABSTRACT
Leonid Vulfovich Vilkomir was born in 1912 in Old Bukhara, Uzbekistan, in Central Asia. He finished high school in Moscow and became a worker at the Boretz (Fighter) factory in that city. While there he joined the literary club Shturn (“Storm” or “Assault”) and published his first attempts at poetry in their literary anthology in 1931.
