ABSTRACT
Three days before St Valentine's Day, on 11 February 1944, Jung stumbled and broke his ankle. His condition worsened and resulted in a heart attack and subsequent hospitalisation. In such a condition he experienced being ‘on the edge of death’, complete with ‘deliriums and visions’ (Jung 1963/1995: 320).
