ABSTRACT

Modern work is social, conducted through relationships with others in groups and teams. Relationships contribute to performance, job satisfaction, and managing of clients and stakeholders. Effective inter-functional interfaces are key to internal performance and hence performance in the marketplace (Kohli and Jaworksi, 1990; Slater and Narver, 1995; Biemans et al., 2010). The internal interfaces are relational. A lack of established relationships among project decision-makers and actors reduces the success of positive project outcomes (Söderlund and Andersson, 1998).
