ABSTRACT

Much of coaching is about change: either helping clients bring about change in themselves and their lives or supporting them through periods of change and crisis. In this chapter we start by unpacking the different types, levels and dimensions of change and exploring how these might come into coaching. We take the coach through how the three-phase, ten-step process of mindset change works, followed by the psychosynthesis approach to working with subpersonalities. We then explore the complex and challenging topic of crisis and how coaches might work with clients who are experiencing different forms of crisis. Finally, we turn our attention to the process of synthesis and how coaches might help their leader clients create synthesis through working in both the inner and outer dimensions.
