ABSTRACT

Sitting at my desk at home in the Drôme Provençale, preparing the final manuscript of this book to send to the publisher, I notice the need to add a few more words. Over the last month or so the world as we have known it has been turned upside down by the coronavirus pandemic and here in France we are five weeks into ‘lockdown’. For me personally (whilst always being aware of those less fortunate or at risk), this forced recess or retreat has been something of a blessing, not just granting time to catch up with all sorts of projects, including completing this book, but also the opportunity to pause and reflect, to immerse in my surroundings and to seek connection with the spirit of peace. New projects emerge, not least learning how to run our courses and support leaders and coaches online. I have also started a new series of blog posts, which are giving new shape and direction to my next book, on evolutionary leadership, already signposted a few times in these pages. I don’t want to repeat any of that here but I do want to add a few thoughts about change, coaching and leadership.
