ABSTRACT

To fully appreciate the value of psychosynthesis within coaching, we must first understand the role of psychology in coaching in the first place and why coaches need to be psychologically minded. Then we need to distinguish between different types of psychology and place psychosynthesis within the broader field. I will argue that, given the nature of the emergent leadership crisis and the spiritual crises experienced by many leaders, a psycho-spiritual perspective is needed now more than ever. In other words, a psychology with soul has particular value for coaches wishing to work at this level.
