ABSTRACT

This chapter identifies and reviews a number of ideas which could help creators deal with their individual tensions and contradictions. Ideas are considered systemic as they could enable creators to reconnect with their internal and external ‘surroundings’ or environments. Ideas include ‘beating’ and ‘redesigning’ systems, nurturing random and inter-connected learning and developing mindful thinking and experiencing. Together with insights from applied systems thinking (AST), these ideas are integrated in a system of enquiry to help creators reflect and act on perceived constraints by undertaking possible activities and letting values like (self) compassion and fairness influence them.
