ABSTRACT

The Vatican is a city, but it’s unique. There are streets and buildings of course. The buildings are most often more like monuments, exhibits in a huge museum of religious history. Yet, it’s not just historical, because the religion in question is actively being observed. This chapter presents an account of the authors' visit to Rome to participate in The Roots of Gestalt Therapy conference in 2007. The author narrates about John Paul II who had resisted the Nazis during World War II, organized a youth group, resisted the communists in Poland during the Cold War, and supported the miners against the established government. He also describes the place around the tomb of John Paul II.
