ABSTRACT
Chapter 3 teaches Step 2 of the scenario planning method. Readers are guided how to identify and examine climate change driving forces that could affect their organization in future. The chapter also explains how to rate each force in terms of uncertainty and potential impact, and rank the set of identified drivers to discern the drivers that will determine the fundamental characteristics of the scenarios. In addition, the chapter details how to conduct workshops to identify, rate, and rank the driving forces. Research conducted in the course of the chapter supports the development of scenarios in Chapter 4.
