ABSTRACT

The chapter begins with a review of the conventional wisdom about innovative entrepreneurship. Teams that attempt to adhere to behaviors and traits that seem entrepreneurial may be hindering their success. Uncertainty is a part of the entrepreneurial process and teams that are able to grapple productively with uncertainty in their team meetings may be more resilient. Interpretive language skills expand the means by which teams can recognize and work with uncertainty. Conversational moves attuned to interpretation can help teams take advantage of the lean startup methodology that guides many of today’s accelerator programs.
