ABSTRACT

This chapter explores practice theory and its importance to entrepreneurship research. It asserts that entrepreneurial work is (re)produced interpersonally and communally through situated practices that are shared, embodied, and enacted over time. This is a departure from traditional streams of research which have tended to investigate enduring intrapersonal and impersonal aspects of entrepreneurship. By understanding the entrepreneur’s perspective – the ethno methods used by entrepreneurs in action – scholars can bridge the gap between theory and practice.
