ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book provides information specifically for new English teachers, focusing on recommendations that are geared toward the experiences of those who are teaching that subject for the first time. It focuses on instructional strategies, describes assessment strategies, and addresses work-life balance strategies. All of these recommendations are practitioner-oriented, designed to help new English teachers understand key ideas that will maximize their successes. This book also contains a fourth section, which focuses on practical resources for teachers to use. It provides a conclusion that discusses final takeaway ideas for putting the insights in this guidebook into action. Section Four also includes a list of references that can be used by those interested in conducting further reading about sources that have informed the ideas presented in this book.
